Route Assist: Haul-It Setup & Maintenance

Parameters for Route Assist are setup in the OBC Settings in Haul-It to define Activities, Misc., Breadcrumb Tracking and License. Haul-It is used to schedule routes, createmodify inspection lists and message drivers to be utilized in Route Assist. OBC Settings

Activities

Associate Route Types with possible Activities to be used in Route Assist. Valid activities for each route type will display on the tablet when the (+) is selected beside the lift quantity.

 

 

  1. Select a Route Type.
  2. Click Auto-Select All Activities or select/deselect activities individually.
  • Following the initial Auto-Select All Activities, the web service will automatically select any activity that may show up on a route associated to that route type.

  1. Select Extra column to permit the driver to add an extra lift to the call for this activity.

 

Create New Calls Based On Activity

Activities in the grid permit the driver to create a new call if needed and update the action.

 

Create New Call Example: If a driver has a call with Blocked Container activity, the Unassign action can be applied with a New Call Activity of Pickup Second Attempt.

  1. Select an activity to allow the driver to create a new call.
  2. Select the action. Unassign or Reassign.
  3. Select the new activity allowed to be created on the new call.
  4. Save.

 

Misc

Miscellaneous Android Settings can be enabled and specified based on the various miscellaneous fields.

 

 

Add, remove and populate Miscellaneous fields as applicable to your company preferences. Definitions by field are listed below.

 

Additional Items Facility: This function allows for the setup of additional items within the selected facility. This feature ties into the items+ button available to the drivers.

 

Log Email: Allows drivers to send the error log to a specified email address as needed to troubleshoot issues.

 

Days Driver Sees Messages: The time allotted for a driver to view messages sent to their tablet using the chat feature in dispatch center.

 

Auto Complete Issue Type: When auto complete is in use and the actual lifts does not meet the call lifts; a customer issue is created using the issue type selected in this option.

 

Issue Type Urgency: This selection sets the level of urgency for the selected customer issue above.

 

Driver Can Switch Company: Allows the driver to change companies when using the tablet.

 

Show Customer Name and Site Name: Allows for customer and site names to display on calls on the tablet.

 

Allow Driver to Manager On-Board Weights: The driver will be able to enter manual weights in the On-Board weights input screen.

 

Force Driver to do LEED Breakdown when Available: When LEED materials exist on a disposal ticket, the driver will be forced to enter the LEED Material Breakdown before saving the ticket.

 

Issue Types Available To Driver: Selections determine which customer issue types are available to the driver on the tablet.

 

DVIR Driver Input Method: The selection determines the method the driver will input items on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report list.

Standard Input: The Driver will need to mark each inspected item on the inspection list.

Quick Input: The Driver will only mark the failed items on the inspection list.

 

DVIR Downtime Codes: The selection will apply the downtime reason codes to the pre and post trips on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report

 

Lockout Speed: Entries by vehicle type will disable the tablet from any input when the entered speed is reached.

 

Time and Call Control: Requires the driver to hit start on every call by the selected Route Type. If left unchecked, the driver will only have to start the route, not every call.

 

Disclaimer: The entered disclaimer will be displayed when a customer signs for a work order.

 

Driver Select By Bin: Driver is able to select the service at the site by choosing a bin that is associated to that service type.

 

Route Ordering (Residential Only):

  • Ordered – Indicates to RouteAssist whether the route is ordered or unordered. The routes are treated differently based on this setting.
    • When unchecked, the driver will only need to touch the device in the case of an exception.
    • When ordered is checked, the driver must run the route in order.
  • Validate – The dispatcher in TRUX will need to validate the addresses when scheduling the routeClosedValidateClosed.

 

Completion Radius: The entry sets how close the truck must be to the residential call in order for it to automatically complete.

 

Duration within Completion Radius: The amount of time the truck must be within the completion radius before a residential call will complete.

 

Breadcrumb Tracking

Breadcrumb Tracking tab has been added to the On-Board Computer Interface Settings (OBC). The Android Settings allow the setup of breadcrumb trail tracking per truck, per driver and per route.

 

 

  1. Select applicable trucks to include in the breadcrumb trail tracking.
  2. Select applicable drivers to include in the breadcrumb trail tracking.
  3. Select applicable routes to include in the breadcrumb trail tracking.
  4. Save.

 

Breadcrumb Trail Tracking Route Example: When breadcrumbs are stored on a route, a Show Breadcrumb Trail option will appear when Displaying Route Map.

 

 

License

The license tab will display the number of routes currently licensed and identify the total routes available to license per server. As scheduled routes are added to the Android license grid, they can be sent to Tablets for immediate use.

 

 

  1. Select Route(s) to be used on the Android Tablets.
  • As routes are selected, the routes per license count will update at the bottom of the Routes Using Android grid.
  • Example above is 15/99. 15 of 99 available licenses are being used.
  • Licensing Changes Requires users to log out and log back into Haul-It to initialize the tablets.
  1. If a new selected route is already scheduled, the Existing Schedule Routes to be sent to Tablets grid will populate.
  2. Select the routes to be sent to the tablets for immediate use.
  3. Save.

 

 

Schedule Routes

Schedule Routes defined in the OBC Settings as usual.

 

 

Inspection List Manager

Create or modify Inspection List of items to be inspected by the driver Pre and/or Post Trips with associated Vehicle Types in Route Assist to be used in DVIR Center.

 

 

  1. Click Create New List.
  2. Enter unique 2-digit code and Inspection List Name.
  3. Specify if this is an Inspection List for Pre Trip, Post Trip or both.
  4. Select any possible Measure Items and verify UOM. Click UOM drop down to change if needed.
  5. Select Vehicle and/or Trailer Inspection Items.
  6. Select Note Req. if the driver will be required to enter a note.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Vehicle Type AssociationClosed .
  9. Select All or Specific Vehicle Types and Assets.
  10. Click Save.

 

Modify Inspection List

Existing Inspection Lists can be made inactive or active and modified to add or remove trips, items and vehicles.

 

 

  1. Double click to recall an existing inspection list from the grid.
  2. Modify Pre Trip or Post Trip, Measure & Inspection Items and/or Vehicle Types.
  3. To render an Inspection List inactive, remove the Active check-mark and vice versa.
  4. Save.

 

Message Driver From Dispatch

Deliver a message to the driver.

 

  1. Recall a route in the lower grid.
  2. Select a call on the route.
  3. Click Message.
  1. Enter text in the Subject and Body.
  2. Click Send.
  • Message will be sent to the driver.

 

Finish Calls in Haul-It

Unfinished calls from Route Assist can be finished from Haul-It.

 

 

  1. Right click on an unfinished call in Route Center or Dispatch.
  2. Enter Finished Date/Time.
  3. Complete necessary Container Actions.
  4. Click Save.

 

As well, a Finished call can be changed to Unfinished by selecting clear and save. This will removed the finished call time and the status will change to Scheduled.

 

Generate Log Off

Scheduled Routes started in Route Assist that do not have a Logoff entry from the tablet cannot be Completed until the scheduled route is logged out of Route Assist. A Logoff record can be generated in Haul-it.

 

 

  1. Right Click on the Scheduled Route in Route Center.
  2. Select Generate Logoff Record.
  3. Update OBC Logoff Entry fields and Save.
